Pokémon GO has changed a lot in the four and a half years since its launch and has quickly become a worldwide gaming phenomenon. What was once a very simple hide-and-seek game where you searched for random Pokemon in the real world has become a complex collection game full of different niches. And the one most players love is the Shiny Hunt, hunting down all the rare shiny versions of their favorite characters. Well, there's a great chance to add to that collection soon with Shiny Meltan returning for the Pokémon Home event. Here's how to get Shiny Meltan in Pokémon GO.
How to get shiny meltan
Shiny Meltan has been featured in the game before, but is still only available for a limited time. One of those moments is about to start again, so those who don't want it or want a little more should pay attention. Shiny Meltan returns as part of the Pokémon Home event, celebrating the integration of services enabling transfers from the mobile game to the new hub. So how does it work?
The Pokémon Home event will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, November 17 at 8 a.m. and will continue until Monday, November 23 at 22 p.m. During these hours, Meltan can appear in his shiny form, but before that you had to access Pokémon Let's GO to get it. It's now over thanks to Home, so just follow the guide above to connect and transfer something to activate the Mystery Box.
What is the Mystery Box? We explain here, but in short, it spawns Meltan near you while it's open. Previously, to activate it you had to send a character to Let's GO, but now it will be given and activated if you log in and send Pokémon home. Once ready, simply open the Mystery Box by selecting it from your item menu during event times. Meltan will start spawning near you and if you're lucky a few will glow.
Just a good time, because you'll have to wait a few days before opening the Mystery Box again. It takes three days for it to fully recharge, so if you start on Monday you have a chance of getting three full boxes which should definitely get you shined, unless you're very unlucky.
