If you can't find Marais in New Pokémon Snap, that's because he's literally hiding in plain sight. There are two areas where you can find this Pokemon, both of which are quite secret, hence why you don't really see it much. One being in the alternate route, you can jump very early, near a swamp, and the other is behind the waterfall, in the very last area of the stage. Both encounters require you to be in Founja Jungle (Night) at research level 2 and above, so let's see how you can capture all of its magical moments.
How to Take a Photo of Every Swampert Behavior in New Pokémon Snap
1 – star
- Any screenshot of Swampert qualifies for one star. Also, just taking the picture of his ears before he comes out of the water works too.
2 – star
- Hit him with a Fluffruit, submerged or not, and take the shot while he's startled.
3 – star
- Head to the alternate route with the Leafeon which can be seen right in front of you, as you progress through the stage. At the point where routes can be changed, throw a Fluffruit at Leafeon to get him into that path. Then use your Melody so he can play with the Ariados and Bouncesweet that are also there, and eventually he'll go into the water. The Swampert will spawn, so take a shot while landing or in the air.
4 – star
- Follow the exact same process of the 3-star image, and when he jumps out of the water, throw an Illumina orb at him. He will then start splashing Leafeon with water, and they will play. Take the photo of the Swampert throwing water, and you have your 4-star photo.
* Please note that as you increase your Research Level at each stage, you may encounter different Pokémon behaviors in New Pokémon Snap. If you can't seem to find the exact moment for the one you're looking for, it could be because of this.
