News fair, Bungie is supposedly working on a Destiny mobile game, a project that's been in development for over two years now. The developer has been working on this game while working on its next big IP. A release date for either is currently unknown.

According to reports, Bungie has teamed up with Chinese tech company NetEase to create this Destiny mobile game. A NetEase employee let it slip on LinkedIn when he posted about his collaboration with Bungie to develop "an unannounced FPS mobile game."

It was not an untrustworthy spill, as it has since been confirmed to be true; the two worked on a mobile game. The source was anonymous, but it's neither here nor there, is it? The upcoming mobile is also supposed to be a standalone title and not connected to Destiny 2 in any way.

This isn't the first time we've heard of a Destiny mobile game because reports first surfaced in September 2021. There were several job postings placed on Bungie's website, with a job list also posted, one of the roles being a platform engineer.

Even though the cat is out of the bag (sort of), Bungie has yet to comment on the possibility of a mobile game. The Destiny community is also out of the loop when it comes to general plans, as Destiny 2 was released almost five years ago, it's about time we heard some new information. However, we can only deviate from the reports that appear, and these indicate that at least one IP address is currently in development.

Back to the mobile game though, we know it's been in development for two years so if we do the mathโ€ฆ we should hopefully expect an announcement on that soon. But we could get ahead with that one.
