From the start of your adventure alongside Ichiban Kasuga, you will notice the "Dragon kart" option when opening the main menu where you can manage your characters, see the items in your possession or consult the attributes of your jobs. Dragon Kart is a racing mini-game that you can unlock as you progress, a more brutal version of Mario Kart and a good way to take a short break from the main story to indulge in other activities. How to unlock Dragon Kart, the more brutal version of Mario Kart Yakuza Like A Dragon:
To play Dragon Kart in Yakuza Like A Dragon, you must progress through the main story until you reach Chapter 4. It is only from this chapter that the northeast part of Yokohama will open up to you and it is at this point of the MAP that you can take your first steps on the Dragon Kart track. By going to Hamakita Park Avenue at the very top right of the Yokohama map, you will find the Dragon Kart store and trigger subplot number 40 "Welcome to Dragon Kart" which will allow you to make your very first Dragon Kart racing. Be careful though, the enemies you will encounter there will be at a level much higher than that of your team members.
After this race, you can speak with the owner to start your career as a kart driver by participating in the various grand prix. You will thus have access to the different cups of this mini game and will be able to continue on other secondary rivalry intrigues related to Dragon Kart by winning cups. You should know that a good part of the plot of Dragon Kart is accessible from chapter 4, but you will not be able to unlock the last cup before the start of chapter 15.
In Chapter 4 you will be able to:
- Complete the "Cerberus Cup" grand prize.
- Complete subplot number 41.
- Unlock and complete the "Pegasus Cup".
- Complete subplot number 42.
- Unlock and complete the "Phoenix Cup".

★ Note – When you complete a cup and climb to the top of the leaderboard, step away from the Dragon Kart pit a bit for a rivalry sub story to activate. When you return to the pit, you can face a participant by activating the side story which will allow you to unlock new karts.
How to unlock new Karts:
From the start, you will have access to three karts, "Crimson Fire", "Sea Fang" and "Golden Phalanx", but you can unlock others by completing side stories. Here are the other karts you will get by fulfilling certain conditions…
- You will unlock the "Screaming Tank" kart by completing the subplot number 41 titled "Hama's Bomb" which becomes accessible after winning the "Cerberus Cup" cup.
- You will unlock the "Phantom Veloce" kart by completing the subplot number 42 entitled "The Rocket Girls" which becomes accessible after winning the "Pegasus Cup".
- You will unlock the "Burning Shadow" kart by completing sub story number 43 titled "Data Leak" which becomes accessible after winning the "Phoenix Cup" cup.
★ Note 2 – Although you will unlock these karts after defeating your rivals at the end of the subplots, you will then have to spend yen to acquire them definitively… The owner will give you these karts for 500 yen.
