Every week, Epic Games' flagship battle royale sees the arrival of new, never-before-seen challenges. A challenge this week will have you flogging the island to find safes in Fortnite. Introduced in Chapter 2 Season 5, you can loot these safes for a steady supply of Gold Bars.
While there are other ways to earn gold bars in the game, looting vaults in Fortnite is by far the fastest way to stock up on gold bars in the game. there are over 50 safes on the island, but where are they?
Where to open safes in Fortnite?
Conveniently, safes can be found all over the island of Fortnite. They are usually found inside houses and large buildings that you will come across during your multiple expeditions to the island. The map below will help you easily find these safes in the game. However, by the time you find and open a safe, you will only complete half of the challenge. To complete the other half, you will need to open a lock with a key.
Where to open a lock with a key in Fortnite?
The easiest way to open a lock with a key in Fortnite is to open an in-game safe. Epic Games introduced these safes to Fortnite during Chapter 3 Season 4 itself. These chests are a source of great loot, which also has the potential to turn the tide of the game in your favor.
However, finding a key and then opening a safe with it is somewhat tedious and very much depends on your luck. The map below will show you the approximate position of all the vaults on the island.
You can choose to collect a key, then open a safe, then loot safes in Fortnite. However, if you notice the map above very carefully, you will notice that there are a few safes that have two locks. This indicates that you will need two keys to open these chests. The interesting part about these double-locked chests is the fact that you will come across at least one safe inside these chests.
Although it seems a little risky, you'll end up killing two birds with one stone, or in this case, two halves of a challenge in one go. The only catch is the fact that you will need to find two keys instead of one. Anyway, the two methods by which you can complete this challenge are mentioned above, so choose a method that suits you.
