Monitor 2 was plagued with bugs and errors that kept players in long queues or even shut down computers. On October 13, Overwatch 2 received quite a long list of patch notes to update bugs. Overwatch 2 Patch Notes 3.38 Update

Bug fixes

There are several bug fixes in the Overwatch 2 3.38 patch notes. Here is the full list of general bugfixes:

  • Fixed an issue with the report interface on the console
  • Fixed a bug on PlayStation involving the inability to purchase other items from the store after a refund for another item
  • Fixed an issue where Legacy Credits was not the default currency selected for Hero Gallery purchases
  • Fixed a bug where some heroic emotes/poses were locked and priced incorrectly
  • Fixed items in the Hero Gallery not being purchasable
  • Fixed an issue with spectator options and made clicking in this menu more responsive
  • Fixed a bug with low resolution shop images displaying small on some platforms
  • Fixed an issue that caused the entire client to appear blurry
  • Fixed a bug where hero unlock challenges were not increasing correctly in Total Mayhem
  • Fixed the “System-Wide Malfunction” Challenge not incrementing correctly
  • Fixed “Classy Flex” and “Flex Your Power” challenges not progressing in groups
  • Fixed a bug with some challenges not displaying correctly at the end of the game stream
  • Fixed a bug where quitting the skirmish could cause challenge progress to be lost
  • Fixed an issue where adjusting the render scale to any value would cause graphical corruption
  • Fixed a bug where depth of field would stay active in-game and leave your screen blurry
  • Fixed bug with camera placement in captured highlights
  • General stability updates

Here is all concurrent bugfixes:



  • Many players were rated too low in the first week of Overwatch 2, so we are implementing a boost as players continue to play games for those affected by this issue.
  • Players who were ranked too low could feel like they were stuck in that rank. Going forward, players should be able to move up the ranks on their first rank update assuming they are meant to be higher based on their performance.
  • Players who have not been ranked will not experience this issue after this patch.

Here is all Workshop bug fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the Workshop green screen would load the Workshop island instead
  • Fixed a bug where Night Workshop maps loaded daytime variants

Maps and heroes

Whether you like the current balance or are looking for updates for broken heroes, there aren't many changes when it comes to heroes in this set of patch notes. There are also new maps in rotation. Here is hero and map updates in Overwatch 2:

  • Numbani and Necropolis have been added back to their map pools
  • Zenyatta no longer receives bonus attack speed from Kiriko's ultimate
  • Fixed an issue where Kiriko's "Yokai" achievement was inaccessible
  • Fixed a bug with Kiriko's Swift Step that could cause the player to be placed under terrain in some cases
