The new artifact of Destiny 2The season of hauntings is called the Nightmare Harvester. You will get the Nightmare Harvester after the first mission of the new season. Much like the Artifacts that came before it, the Nightmare Harvester unlocks upgrades as you gain XP. As more unlocks become available for your Nightmare Harvester, you'll be able to upgrade your weapons and abilities to better fight Nightmares in the Nightmare Containment activity (and everywhere else).
Best Nightmare Harvester Artifact Upgrades
The most essential Nightmare Harvester upgrade you will need for Destiny 2 Season of the Haunt is Overload towers. What overload rounds do is give your auto rifles and submachine guns a stun to fighters, which is especially effective against overload champions. There will be plenty of Overload Champions in the Nightmare Containment activity, so unlock the Overload Towers and equip them to your gauntlets early. Since this upgrade is in the first column, you can unlock it as soon as you've upgraded your Nightmare Harvester once.
The next essential Nightmare Harvester unlock is Dying Star Armor. This upgrade is on the third tier, so you'll need to earn a good amount of XP before unlocking it. The Dying Star armor reduces incoming Solar and Void damage from fighters, which is especially useful since we now have Solar 3.0 and Void 3.0.
Speaking of Solar 3.0, many of Nightmare Harvester's artifact upgrades pair extremely well with any Solar version. Surcharge fondue adds Disruption to all of your Sun Grenades which pairs well with Overload Rounds. Class catering will grant you regeneration each time you use your Solar class abilities and Solar Fulfillment will make all of your ignitions do more damage with a bigger radius. If you want to maximize your effectiveness with the new Exotic Intruder, you'll want to unlock and equip Handgun holster et Handgun Dexterity. The Sidearm Holster perk gradually reloads your holstered handgun over time and the Sidearm Dexterity perk makes removing and stowing your handgun much faster.
