Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Exploit gives players XP in seconds

If you can get away with it, you're some kind of mensch.

Players have discovered an incredible exploit in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 that allows them to gain experience by the thousands, within seconds.

If you clicked on it wondering what the problem is, you've probably already guessed what's going on. Activision might not even bother to fix this, because you need to achieve something really difficult in-game for this exploit to work. There won't be many players who can pull this off. But then again, this can put the most skilled players at too high an experience gap to everyone else.

So what are you doing? What you need to do is climb over an enemy tank with an open hatch on it. You must then launch a suppression mine, so as to hit the rear of the turret. If you succeed, activating the mine will delete the soldiers inside the tank multiple times until they die. In the process, of course, you will earn an incredible amount of XP in the process.

As you can guess, this is probably something Infinity Ward deliberately programmed, and they didn't care too much about players doing it. It's easy said and then done, as just getting into the position where you can mount a covered enemy tank would be a feat in itself. You are likely to be shot down by individual enemy soldiers, or for that matter, other enemy tanks, before you can take it out. As some players have said, it might be better to play the game normally. The difficulty and chances of putting everything together to achieve it are so low that you won't even have that many chances to try.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 had a great weekend. Financial analyst Barrons reported that the game has already achieved $600 million in sales, making it the franchise's best-selling game in history.

Players continued to play outside of the litany of issues the game encountered, many of which were created by Activision themselves. For example, they sold fans a disc that didn't contain the full 100 GB of game data, so players with the disc still had to download the game to their platform of choice.

Activision is also facing potential litigation from a hotel, after discovering that a game card actually used the layout of its hotel. Finally, Activision just removed Family Sharing for Steam users.

With all of that in mind, it doesn't seem likely that Activision will force a change to "fix" this exploit, unless it creates problems elsewhere. The attachments setting caused the game to crash, so they removed it.

Either way, if it's even a possibility, the odds of it happening so frequently are so unlikely that we may never even know. Until then, you can definitely take a chance and try to get away with it if you can.
